The Black British Book Festival (BBBF) collaborated with The London Book Fair (LBF), offering 20 Black authors and booksellers a free ticket to the event last month. The festival secured 20 complimentary tickets for first-time attendees to explore LBF, which took place at London Olympia between 12th and 14th March, to promote inclusivity and amplify diverse voices within the literary community.
“Together with The London Book Fair, we created a platform that not only celebrates Black authors but also actively promotes inclusivity within the literary world. This collaboration represents a significant step towards a more diverse and representative publishing industry,” said Selina Brown, founder and CEO of the festival.
Sophie Gilligan, marketing manager at The London Book Fair, commented, “We believe that literature is a powerful tool for change and representation. The collaboration with BBBF aligned with our commitment to fostering an inclusive space for diverse voices within the global publishing industry and our ongoing efforts to make the fair more accessible for all.”
