Annemarie Anang is a Londoner, born to Ghanaian parents. After struggling to find children’s books that featured main characters who reflect the diversity of children in our world, her love for storytelling inspired her to write. Annemarie is an actress and musician, a graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and also a former teacher. Her debut picture book I AM NEFERTITI was shortlisted for the Little Rebels Award 2023 and the Leeds Book Award 2023. Annemarie now lives in the Swedish forest with her daughter, husband and two adopted cats.
