
Christie J Newport is the winner of the inaugural Joffe Books Prize for Crime Writers of Colour. The win follows years of suffering from a chronic disability and overcoming tremendous adversity to achieve her childhood dream of becoming a published author. Christie’s debut, The Raven's Mark, was praised by New York Times bestselling author Lisa Jewell as ‘the most assured crime debut I have ever read’. Originally from Preston, where The Raven's Mark is set, Christie currently lives in Northumberland with her wife and their Labrador.
