The Royal Society of Literature (RSL) is Britain’s charity for the advancement of literature. They act as a voice for the value of literature, work to engage the public in literature, and honour and encourage writers at all stages of their careers. In their public events, awards and prizes for writers at all stages in their careers, and outreach programmes with young people and in prisons, the RSL demonstrates the ways in which literature shapes society, and that it can change an individual life.
