Writers On The Rise 2023

Are you a Black British author aspiring to get traditionally published? Then look no further…

Discover Writers On The Rise, an initiative brought to life through a collaboration between the Black British Book Festival and Pan Macmillan. Our mission is crystal clear: to discover, nurture, and support emerging talents within Black British communities.

This carefully crafted program is designed to equip aspiring writers with the essential tools, knowledge, and industry access to embark on their journey as authors successfully.

Elevate your literary knowledge through our dynamic 8-week Writers program, thoughtfully tailored for ambitious Black British authors looking to navigate the intricate landscape of the publishing world and hone their craft. This exclusive opportunity gathers 30 promising writers who will engage with seasoned Pan Macmillan professionals, including editors, legal experts, and publicists, offering invaluable insights into the publishing process. While the program unfolds remotely over 8 weeks, it culminates in an in-person gathering in London, complete with a tour of the Pan Macmillan HQ and day long masterclass.
